This is a spot for those moments when you are watching an anime and go "....hey WAIT A MINUTE!"
You know the moment. You are happily watching your favorite anime, and then something unexplained happens - you may have even missed the first time watching - that just blows your mind that it exists.
Remissness on such a moment, and discuss.

I had a moment like this in Kyo Kara Maoh.
The episode in which we are introduced to who Conrart's father was and his relationship with his mother... Conrart's father leaves for a very long time, growing old, and then comes back for a short visit to see Cecilie. Between the time he left and the time he comes back... Wolfram was born. And he's just sitting there, in the living room thing, while Cecilie and Conrart's father talk. And nothing is mentioned about where this third child came from. Cecilie's children all have different fathers, so... what? I mean, you just assume Gwendel's dad was a previous lover, possibly even dead, but.. Wolfram was just there. Cecilie had no obvious new lover, Wolfram's father is NEVER brought up, even though his UNCLE was in a later episode... this was a big distraction for me during this episode and it spawned a thousand fanfiction ideas that never got written.

It's just one of those things that people are just meant to assume. When it shows Wolfram as a young child when Conrart's father comes back, it's safe to say that Cecilie had a relationship with another man, and that relationship was brief enough to fit into the time gap, but long enough to result in Wolfram's birth. And, judging by how much Conrart's father aged, said time gap could have been anywhere between 30-40+ years. Also, going by Wolfram's age (seeing as he's Mazoku, he was probably between age 15-20, even though he was still a little kid) at the time, the relationship between Cecilie and Wolfram's father could have lasted any number of years so long as it fit the given time frame. Though, judging by Cecilie's reaction to Conrart's father's returning, it had probably been several years since she and Wolfram's father split. As for what happened to Wolfram's father... I have no idea. I don't know if it was explored in the manga, seeing as I've never read it, and I know for a fact that it was never mentioned in the anime. I guess that bit's left up to the fans.

The distraction for me was that it wasn't questioned...
If I see my ex-wife (or husband), even after a very long time, and they have a new kid, I would probably ask questions, even just for my curiosity's sake. <.<

Well, it's possible that he did ask questions, even though we never saw him ask them. *shrug*
Or maybe he just knew Cecilie's personality well enough that he didn't need to ask.

I remember one now!
When we're introduced to Tanaka's weird . . . inflating-deflating thing.
No matter how many times I see that episode, I just can't comprehend why it's there or why Tanaka is like that.
It just resists my brain so much.

Oh, I have one! In Bleach when, somewhere randomly in the second season, they started being able to "fly" with no explanation. I think that I might have not even questioned that, though, except for the fact that when they "skid across the air", they kick up dust! Mid-air dust! That is sooooo against any laws of physics and it's one that can't even be explained away as "He's a shinigami!" because it has absolutely nothing to do with shinigami! Bleach simply expects us to not question how dirt molecules are accumulating on air currents.

"Mid-air dust" I think I died several times just now. I'm in a library, probably not the best place to be laughing. xD

Well, there is this one that I forget the name of... It started off cool, an unusual guy meets-half demon story with an avant garde art style. It got weirder from there, but it was still cool... and then it just went bat-shit insane. Like, the villain, at the end, his head jumps off his body and sprouts little arms and legs and starts running around. Part of his plan involves destroying the city with a giant bowling ball, and then the heroes end up running on top of it, trying to change the direction... Oh, God, it was strange.
And then there was Tsubasa, though I've only read the manga. For those who don't know... well, telling you what's mind-boggling about it would spoil the whole plot, so...

You mean Tsubasa Chronicles? I see what you mean about that one. After a while it's just one huge "wtf" moment, though I still love it to death. XD
